Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney has been renowned for playing Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue. The actress also starred on the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a household worker. She grew up in a family that included four brothers. While she was a small girl, she wanted to be a court-reporter. In highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials, and later after moving to New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Delaney, a young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and in dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional has not been a success and has not been happy. The talented actor has had to battle alcoholism, and has had two failed marriages. She was divorced in 2005 and was denied custody of her only child she had.
